So Old, So Young

from All Of The Lights EP by George William Reece

/

lyrics

I'm getting tired of singing 'What's My Age Again?'
My oldest friend is just a kid.
I'm in a pseudo-existential phase again,
Trying hard to regret the things I did.

Well if it seems like I'm angry well that's logical;
I've been living too slow, too young to die.
Cause all of my explanations just sound comical.
In a digital world there is no try.

And all the time I've wasted just keeps running past my eyes,
Like star-encrusted jewellery from an angel in disguise.
And everything I hoped for is a devil on the rise.
I am so old, so young.

I'm getting down on one day and I'm high the next,
But if I tell my truth I live a lie.
I'm playing facebook like a human Pokedex,
But if I ever catch 'em all I'll cry.

Tomorrow is another chance to write the ones I've wronged,
But what on earth I'd say to them was trouble all along.
And everything I wanna say is wrapped up in a song.
I am so old, so young.
